Outreach Programs

The Southern Guitar Festival supports activities that enhance formal, classroom-based, and informal education. Our programs provide educational experiences for the broader community and professional development opportunities for music practitioners through competition venues for teachers’ students, opportunities to present and participate in intensive workshops, and ample opportunity to network with luthiers, peers, and world-class performers.  We are also in process of developing a directory resource for local guitar pedagogy professionals.

Whenever possible, the Southern Guitar Festival brings high-caliber artists and competition winners to perform in under-served communities, children’s hospitals, senior care centers, and family shelters, to name a few.

If you are aware of a nonprofit or other social outreach program that would be interested in partnering with us in the greater Winston-Salem or Charlotte metro areas, please contact us with your ideas and we will be glad to explore how we can bring the power of the arts to our efforts to increase opportunity, education and quality of life for those in our community.
