Silviu Octavian Ciulei
Classical and flamenco guitarist Silviu Octavian Ciulei was born in Constanta, Romania. He began his musical studies at the early age of six and attended the High School of Arts, a Conservatory style school in Constanta. By age thirteen, he had won his first performance prize. Many awards soon followed including First Prizes in the National Music Olympics, and was First Prize winner and Gold Medalist three times consecutively in the “George Georgescu” International Music Performance Competition. Beijing Guitar Duo
Praised by the distinguished Classical Guitar Magazine as “having the star potential to serve as inspiration for new generations of guitarists to come,” Beijing Guitar Duo made their New York debut in Carnegie Hall in 2010. Immediately after the concert, they were signed by Bill Capone of Arts Management Group in New York and launched their international concert career.
Composed of guitarist Meng Su and Yameng Wang, Beijing Guitar Duo has performed around the world in halls such as Concertgebouw, Palau de Musica, Tchaikovsky Hall and the National Theatre in Beijing. This season has taken them to concert tours in Canada, the United States, Australia, Europe and China. The Duo regularly collaborates with orchestras, in ensemble with flutist Marina Piccinini, guitarists Grigoryan Brothers and with their mentor Manuel Barrueco, touring in Europe, Australia and the U.S. READ MORE…
Romanian guitarist Dragos Ilie has established himself as one of the most creative and expressive young guitarists of his generation. In 2015 he was offered a scholarship for Young Artists by the Royal House of Romania. Dragos has won multiple awards at national and international guitar competitions including the Transylvania Guitar Festival, Koblenz International Guitar Festival, Indiana Guitar Festival, the University of Louisville Guitar Fest, the Columbus Guitar Symposium, and BorGuitar Festival. “Virtuosismo” and “technical dominance” are the words used by the press to describe American guitarist, Jay Kacherski. A native of New York, Kacherski has given solo performances and masterclasses throughout the United States and Mexico at music venues such as the Festival Internacional de Guitarra del Conservatorio Nacional de Musica, Mexico City; the Texas Music Festival, the Ollin Yoliztli Center for the Arts in Mexico City; and the Concert Artist Series at the Atlas Performing Arts Center in Washington D.C. As a member of the Texas Guitar Quartet, he has given performances and masterclasses at the Brevard Music Center, the Texas Guitar Workshop, various universities throughout the United States, the International Trumpet Guild, and a six city tour of China.
